STU's Connors named 2026 CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Year & All-Canadians

The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is proud to announce that Charlee Connors of the St. Thomas University Tommies has been named the 2026 CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.

A fourth-year post from St. Thomas University, Connors delivered an outstanding season while leading the Tommies to a dominant 17–1 regular-season record and a consistent place in the national rankings, finishing the season ranked No. 5 in the CCAA.

Despite missing several games due to injury, she averaged 14.5 points per game (2nd in ACAA) and 7.9 rebounds per game (4th in ACAA) across 16 games played. Her efficiency and presence in the paint were also evident in her 43.6 field-goal percentage (3rd in ACAA) and league-best 81.9 free-throw percentage, converting 68 of 83 attempts from the line.

Over the course of the season, Connors totaled 232 points and 127 rebounds, including 63 offensive boards, showcasing her ability to impact both ends of the court. Her strong performances helped propel the Tommies to one of their best seasons in recent program history.

In addition to her on-court success, Connors achieved significant career milestones this year, surpassing 685 career points and 412 career rebounds during her collegiate career.

Connors’ excellence extends beyond basketball. A standout student, she maintains a 4.2 GPA and has been consistently named to the Dean’s List. She is a CCAA Academic All-Canadian and CCAA National Scholar, exemplifying the balance of athletic performance and academic achievement that defines the CCAA student-athlete experience.

Meaghan Donahue Wies, St. Thomas Tommies Athletic Director, added: “Charlee is the ultimate student-athlete. She excels on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. She is exactly the type of person we want representing St. Thomas University and the CCAA.”

The CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Year award is presented annually to the top student-athlete in the country who demonstrates exceptional performance, leadership, and achievement throughout the season.

CCAA Player of the Year winners receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA.
