Day One at the CCAA Golf Championships presented by PING

The 2024 CCAA Golf National Championship, presented by PING, officially began with the first round of a four-round competition at Red Crest Golf Club in King, Ontario. On the men’s side sits a two-way tie between Zach Pageau (André-Laurendeau) and Fanshawe College’s Luke Evans; both men sit even at 71 through 18. There is also a tie for third, with Michael Valk (Medicine Hat College) and Ben Landers (Fanshawe College) sitting two-over par. Fanshawe College and Cégep André-Laurendeau also lead the men’s teams with combined scores of +14. The host, Humber College, sits in third overall with a combined score of +26. For the women, Jordan Newlands (OCAA-1) leads by a shot at +2. Humber Colleges Susan Chen sits at three over, followed by Rosalie Langlois (RSEQ-1) at +5. Overall, Humber College leads the field significantly, sitting at five over for the day. The RSEQ-1 Women’s team sits in second at +12, followed by the ACAC Women’s #1 team at +26. Round two begins at 10:00 AM on Wednesday. Ella Dolan (NAIT) and Kiara Reesor (Medicine Hat College) will tee off on hole one, and Jordan Newlands (OCAA-1), Justine Gorham (OCAA-2), and Rosalie Langlois (RSEQ-1) will tee off on hole 10. The weather in King will be five degrees and overcast in the morning and eight degrees in the afternoon; there is a 30% chance of rain. |
