Championship Saturday at the CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship delivered a fitting conclusion to an outstanding week of competition at the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre. In front of an energized crowd, teams battled for national hardware in high-level, emotionally charged matches that showcased the depth, resilience, and talent of collegiate volleyball across Canada. Match 12 – Bronze Medal Match: Vancouver Island University Mariners 3, Augustana Vikings 1
In an exciting and high-level bronze medal match, the Vancouver Island University Mariners defeated the Augustana Vikings in four sets (25-17, 26-28, 28-26, 25-22) to capture the national bronze medal. The turning point of the match came in the third set, when the Vikings built a commanding 13–4 lead before the Mariners mounted an impressive comeback to claim the set 28–26. VIU were able to close out the 4th set to secure back-to-back bronze medal finishes at the CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship.
Lauren Hoard was named the VIU Player of the Game after delivering a strong all-around performance with 15 kills, 15 digs, and two blocks, proving pivotal in key moments throughout the match. Regan Ingram and Grace Brisebois added 15 and 14 kills respectively, with Brisebois also contributing three service aces and four blocks. Libero Jordy Exner anchored the Mariners’ defence with an outstanding 26 digs.
For the Vikings, Hadley Ziemmer earned the Augustana Player of the Game honours, continuing her strong tournament with 17 kills, 16 digs, two service aces, and one block. Taryn Watson contributed 11 kills, 17 digs, three service aces, and two blocks, while Brooke McBride led all players at the net with six blocks.
With the result, the Vancouver Island University Mariners are the 2026 CCAA National Bronze Medalists, while the Augustana Vikings conclude the championship in fourth place.

Grace Brisebois led the team with 54 kills, nine service aces, and 11 blocks. Setter Edan Wade recorded 131 assists, while libero Jordy Exner anchored the defence with 63 digs.
Augustana Viking
Hadley Ziemmer led the Vikings with 59 kills and 60 digs. Ziemmer and Lainey Granley shared the team lead with six service aces each. Setter Phaedra Bruens recorded 101 assists, while Brooke McBride led the team at the net with 15 blocks.

Match 13 – National Final: Lakeland College Rustlers 3, Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit 1
One word: Dynasty. For the fourth consecutive year, the Lakeland College Rustlers are your CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Champions, defeating the Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit 3–1 (17-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-22) in an electrifying championship final at the Niverville Community
Resource and Recreation Centre. The final delivered drama, momentum swings, and clutch performances befitting a national title match, with both teams showcasing why they earned their spots on the podium.
After dropping the first set to the Lynx, Lakeland responded in set two before an unforgettable third set decided the match’s momentum. Down 16-12, the Lynx’s Alyson Gagne delivered four straight aces to extend the lead to 20-12, but the Rustlers battled back from multiple set-point deficits—including being down 21-24 and 25-26—to claim the set 28-26. In the fourth, Lakeland secured an early 3-0 lead and maintained it to close out the championship 25-22.
Avery Bates was named the Lakeland Player of the Game and tournament MVP after a dominant performance with 22 kills, 15 digs, three blocks, and two service aces, consistently delivering in the clutch moments. Setter Kayelyn Mazurkewich ran a precise offense, adding 43 assists, four kills, nine digs, and two blocks. Raegan Nicol anchored the net with four blocks in the win.
For the Lynx, Alyson Gagne earned Player of the Game and First-Team All-Star honours with 18 kills, seven service aces, nine digs, and one block. Dalia Boissinot (Second-Team All-Star) added 13 kills and 13 digs, while First-Team All-Star Marilou Durocher directed the offence with 40 assists and seven digs.
Congratulations to Lakeland College on claiming their fourth consecutive national title, and to the Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit for earning a hard-fought silver medal.

Avery Bates led the Rustlers with 43 kills and 31 digs throughout the tournament. Setter Kayelyn Mazurkewich facilitated the offence with 105 assists, while Raegan Nicol anchored the net with 13 blocks.
Lynx d’Édouard-Montpetit
Sophie Tatasciore led the Lynx with 38 kills, while Mélody Lahaie contributed 40 digs to support the defence. Marilou Durocher directed the offence with 108 assists, and Marilou Robichaud recorded 15 blocks. Alyson Gagne and Dalia Boissinot each led the team in service aces with 11 apiece.
