Match 7 : MSVU Mystics 0 – Élans de Garneau 4The Élans de Garneau (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec Wildcard entry) are headed to the 2025 CCAA
Women’s Soccer National Championship gold medal match. With three goals in the second half, Garneau earned a 4-0 decision over the Mount St. Vincent University (MSVU) Mystics (Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association Champions). Garneau opened the scoring in the 16 th minute. Ruby Jolin converted a well-placed pass from Emy Desharnais behind Mystics goalkeeper Morgan Gillis to give the Élans a 1-0 edge. Four minutes into the second half, Garneau went up by two. Florence Cote, a third-year forward, pounced on a rebound and deposited it into MSVU’s net. Before the final whistle, Heidi Mallette, a second-year from Quebec, capitalized twice within minutes to lift Garneau to a 4-0 victory. Garneau goalkeeper Alexa Turmel earned the clean sheet. Emma Farrell, a Psychology student from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, was honoured as the 4imprint Mystics Player of the Game. Océane Blouin, a first-year student-athlete, received the recognition for the Élans. The MSVU Mystics will meet the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in the bronze semi-finals on Friday, November 7 at 3 pm MST. The Élans de Garneau will play the Aigles d’Ahuntsic in the gold medal final on Saturday, November 8 at 3 pm MST. |

Match 6 : Brandon Bobcats 0 – Red Deer Polytechnic Queens 5The Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) Queens have advanced to the national bronze semi-finals. Leveraging a
balanced attack and a combined shutout performance from Jessie Stewart and Jana Leskewich, the Queens (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Bronze medallists) blanked the Brandon University Bobcats (Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference Champions) 5-0. After some early pressure, the Queens got on the board in the 19 th minute. Kennedy Van Arragon, a second- year forward from Red Deer, was stationed in front of the Bobcats’ net and fired a shot past Brandon’s goalkeeper Josie Black to push the hosts ahead 1-0. Twenty minutes later, the Queens went up 2-0. Paige Kalbfleisch, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student, sent a high shot over the head of Black from 29 yards out. The Bobcats nearly reduced the gap four minutes later. Off a well-placed cross, Brandon University headed the ball off the crossbar. Just before the end of the half, Van Arragon tallied her second goal of the game, placing the ball low past Black who was advancing to cut down the angle. The RDP Queens led 3-0 at the half. Four minutes into the second half, Sein Furuyama added the Polytechnic’s fourth marker off a cross from Yuri Umino. In the 64 th minute, Kalbfleisch propelled the Queens ahead 5-0 with a shot from the left. Deborah Meron, a talented midfielder from Nairobi, Kenya, was acknowledged as the 4imprint Bobcats Player of the Game. Kalbfleisch was named the 4imprint Queens Player of the Match. The Brandon Bobcats will compete against the Concordia University Thunder on Friday, November 7 at 12:30 pm MST. The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens will face the MSVU Mystics on Friday at 3 pm MST in the bronze semi- finals. |
