Regan Ryter of the Fanshawe Falcons has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross country Coach of the Year. Ryter's dedication to her athletes and program has fostered an environment of mutual respect, commitment, and success, both on and off the course. Under Ryter's guidance, the Fanshawe men's cross-country team achieved remarkable success, winning four invitationals and capturing the OCAA Gold medal. The women’s team consistently placed in the top four, finishing with an impressive OCAA Bronze medal. Both teams’ achievements underscore the strength of Ryter’s program, which emphasizes teamwork, personal growth, and resilience.
Ryter’s influence extends beyond athletics. A certified personal trainer, she maintains a high level of knowledge and expertise by participating in continuing education programs, which allows her to offer the latest insights to her athletes. She actively encourages open communication, holding regular one-on-one meetings to discuss each student-athlete’s personal goals, academic performance, and overall well-being. Her open-door policy has strengthened team unity and ensures that each athlete feels supported, respected, and empowered. "Regan is not just a successful coach," noted Fanshawe Athletics Officer Nev Carson. "She’s an exemplary role model for all team members. Her influence has fostered a close-knit culture where student-athletes thrive academically and athletically. She’s respected not only by the athletes but also by her coaching peers." The CCAA Cross Country Coach of the Year recipient receives a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA.
