Despite a strong performance from Amanda Pearcey of MSVU, who finished with 28 points, the Lightning held firm in the second half to seal the win. Maitlynn Miller led the charge for St. Mary’s, scoring 27 points, earning Player of the Game honors as well as Amanda Peracey from MSVU, and keeping her team on track for the next round. With the win, the St. Mary’s Lightning advance in the tournament, looking to build momentum as they push forward in their quest for the national title. |

SAIT Trojans Dominate Host STU Tommies The SAIT Trojans made a statement in Game 3 of Day 1 at the CCAA Women’s Basketball Nationals, defeating the host STU Tommies 73-42 at the Currie Center. The Trojans set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-14 lead in the first quarter and extending their advantage by halftime. From there, they maintained control, keeping the Tommies at bay to secure a decisive victory. Kitawna Sparks led the way for SAIT with 15 points, earning Player of the Game honors. On the Tommies side, Charlee Connors put up 12 points in a strong effort for the hosts. With the win, the Trojans move on to the next round, while the Tommies look to regroup for their next match. |
