Desfossés Named 2026 CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year

The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) is proud to announce Zachary Desfossés of the Titans de Cégep Limoilou as the 2026 CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year. A third-year student-athlete from Boucherville, Qc., Desfossés delivered a dominant season in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ), leading the conference offensively while helping guide the Titans to a championship campaign.
His leadership and production were instrumental in Cégep Limoilou’s 18–2 regular-season record, which secured the RSEQ league championship. The Titans also captured the Coupe de l’Est du Canada, finishing the tournament with a perfect 6–0 record. “Zachary Desfossés has had an exceptional season, showcasing not only his skill and athleticism but also the leadership and dedication that define a true student-athlete. His impact on the court and in the classroom makes him a deserving recipient of the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year,” added Todd Caughlin, CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Convenor Desfossés’ outstanding season earned him RSEQ Division 1 MVP honours as well as CCAA All-Canadian recognition, cementing his status as one of the top collegiate volleyball players in the country. Beyond his performance on the court, Desfossés is recognized as a dedicated student and exemplary teammate. Known for his work ethic and commitment to training, he leads by example and consistently brings energy and focus to every practice and match. “Zachary is an exceptional athlete and student who sets the standard for his teammates,” said Rock Picard, head coach of the Titans. “He leads by example with his discipline, commitment, and positive influence on everyone around him.” During the summer months, Desfossés competes at a high level in beach volleyball as a member of the Équipe Québec Élite program. His continued development has earned him a commitment to Université Laval, where he will continue both his studies and his volleyball career next season. The CCAA Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year Award recognizes the top student-athlete in the country who demonstrates outstanding performance, leadership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the court. CCAA Player of the Year winners receive a customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA National Championship banquet.

Desfossés finished the regular season as the top scorer in the RSEQ, averaging 5.34 points per set across 18 matches. He also led the conference from the service line with 0.49 aces per set and ranked fifth in blocks per set (0.54), demonstrating his all-around impact at the net.
