2019 CCAA Badminton All-Canadians
The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce the 2019 CCAA Badminton All-Canadians.
The student-athletes, who are selected by their conference based on performance and contribution to the sport and their team, were honoured at a banquet during the 2019 CCAA Badminton National Championships at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Truro, NS.

| Wang went undefeated in ACAC Women’s Singles (9-0) and Mixed Doubles (8-0) play this season. The two-time CCAA All-Canadian also placed fourth in Women’s Doubles at the 2019 Yonex Canadian National Championships. Wang is a leader with a positive personality and is dedicated to training hard and making others around her better. She has an excellent student-first mindset and has earned a 4.0 GPA average. Wang coaches at the B-Active Badminton Club in Edmonton. | After earning a CCAA National title in his first season at Concordia a year ago, Wang picked up right where he left off with a dominant sophomore year in the ACAA. He went undefeated in ACAC Men’s Doubles (9-0) and Mixed Doubles (8-0) action. He also finished fourth, in Men’s Doubles, at the 2019 Yonex Canadian National Championships. Wang has improved his consistency this season while managing an honours average to match his athletics success. | |

| The OCAA Player of the Year went a perfect 6-0 in Women’s Singles play at West Regionals and also led the Eagles to a second-place finish in team points at the event. Wong leads by example, has integrity and inspires other student-athletes. The second-year student-athlete at University of Toronto Mississauga, who won bronze at the OCAA Championships last season, also plays D-League volleyball. | In his first season with the Hawks, Kumar earned Men’s Singles titles at the Fanshawe, Centennial and Humber events. He went 5-0 at West Regionals and led the Hawks to a team title. In a game that highlights gentlemanly and respectful play, Kumar has exemplified these traits since arriving at Humber. He works harder and longer than most at practice, showing that his skill set has been attained and needs tuning throughout. Off the court, he is genuine, a caring teammate and attentive student. | |

| Lawther dominated the ACAA in singles, doubles and mixed play witch victories at Holland (WS, MD), Mount Allison (WD, XD), DAL AC (WD) and UKC (WS). The third-year Blue Devil is also a current member of the PEI Canada Games team. Lawther, now a two-time CCAA All-Canadian, is a wonderful person and a phenomenal leader. She is extremely driven to succeed and sets the bar high with her work ethic. Lawther is also a CCAA National Scholar student-athlete. | With the exception of one match, White was victorious in every set he played this season in the ACAA. He earned Men’s Doubles titles in all four events this season and was also successful in Mixed Doubles. White, who will represent Nova Scotia at the 2019 Canada Games, is a multi-sport athlete and suits up for Men’s Soccer team at UKC. White is self-motivated, which gives him the drive and desire to compete at the highest level. | |
