Team Canada off to Germany for 2025 FISU Summer World University Games The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) proudly celebrates the outstanding student-athletes from our member institutions who are set to compete at the 2025 FISU Summer World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, from July 16–27. In badminton, the CCAA will be represented by Timothy Lock and Sherry Wu of Humber Polytechnic, and Ritu Shah of the University of King's College. These athletes will take on the world's best post-secondary players, showcasing the strength and depth of collegiate badminton in Canada. The CCAA is also pleased to acknowledge student-athletes from member institutions participating in other sports at the Games:
Best of luck to all CCAA student-athletes and the entire Canadian delegation as they proudly compete on the world stage! Led by chef de mission Karla Karch, an Olympian and the athletic director at Mount Royal, Team Canada will consist of 125 athletes, supported by 55 staff, to the event, and will compete in nine sports: archery, artistic gymnastics, athletics, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, swimming, table tennis and taekwondo. The full list is included after this release. This will be the first appearance for Canada at a Summer World University Games since Naples 2019, after missing the 2021 games (which were postponed to 2023 due to COVID) in Chengdu, China, and the cancellation of the 2023 games, which had been set for Ekaterinburg, Russia.
