SAIT Prepares for the Arrival of Men’s Basketball into Alberta

2010mbbNCThe 2010 CCAA Men’s National Basketball Championships are right around the corner, as teams gear up and ready themselves for a weekend of face paced competition.  The championships will be hosted at SAIT, March 18-20th.

Durham College basketball star attends Toronto Raptors pre-draft workout

Anthony_Batchelor100x100(May 14, 2009) After a record breaking five year career with the Durham College men’s basketball team in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), Anthony Batchelor had an opportunity of a lifetime this past week as he recently attended the Toronto Raptors pre-draft workout!

Cougars win gold at CN 2009 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship

(March 23, 2009) The CN 2009 CCAA Men's Basketball Championship was held in Prince George, British Columbia from March 20-22.  Eight representative teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada, two wild card teams and the host the UNBC Timberwolves competed for the gold medal.

Humber College’s Darrell Glenn is the 2009 Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year

(Cornwall, Ont. – March 20, 2009)  Coach Glenn and the Hawks’ have had a successful season this year with a record of 17-2, and capturing the OCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.  Early on, Darrell and his coaching staff identified areas of concern, with regards to the type of players needed to blend well with existing players, focusing on a team that could run offensive and defensive schemes in order to be successful.
