February 27, 2012 - The country’s best female collegiate volleyball players will compete in Nanaimo, B.C. for the 2012 CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship hosted by Vancouver Island University on March 8-10.

The 2012 CCAA Women’s National Volleyball Championship features the top eight women’s volleyball teams in Canada, seeded in the following order:

1. VIU Mariners (PACWEST gold + host)
2. Mount Royal Cougars (ACAC gold)
3. Élans de Francois-Xavier-Garneau (RSEQ gold)
4. Humber Hawks (OCAA gold)
5. UFV Cascades (PACWEST silver)
6. Medicine Hat Rattlers (ACAC silver)
7. Cavaliers de Bois-de-Boulogne (RSEQ silver)
8. MSVU Mystics (ACAA gold)

The CCAA Championship Awards Banquet will precede the competition, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7. The competition will begin Thursday, March 8 and runs through Saturday, March 10.

Thursday March 8
Game #1              1pm – Mount Royal Cougars vs Cavaliers de Bois-de-Boulogne  
Game # 2             3pm – Élans de Francois-Xavier-Garneau vs Medicine Hat Rattlers
Game # 3             6pm – Humber Hawks vs UFV Cascades
Game # 4             8pm – VIU Mariners vs MSVU Mystics 

Friday March 9
Game # 5             1pm – Losers of game 1 & 2
Game # 6             3pm – Losers of game 3 & 4
Game # 7             6pm – Winners of game 1 & 2 (semi-final)
Game # 8             8pm – Winners of game 3 & 4 (semi-final)

Saturday March 10
Game # 9            10am – Losers of game 7 & Winners of game 6
Game # 10          12pm – Losers of game 8 vs. Winners of game 5
Game # 11          2pm – Losers of game 5 & 6 (7th/8th place)
Game # 12          5:30pm – Winners of game 9 & 10 (Bronze Medal)
Game # 13          8pm – Winners of game 7 & 8 (Gold Medal)

The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place immediately following the final match.
