2011 CCAA Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Month

VBAM_FDecember 8, 2011 - The CCAA has released the CCAA Women’s Volleyball Athletes of the Month for November.  

 

 

 

The CCAA Athlete of the Month program recognizes student-athletes for their outstanding event performance and athletic accomplishments during the month.

The distinction is bestowed upon a student-athlete in each conference participating in CCAA Volleyball. The five conferences are PACWEST (Pacific Western Athletic Association), ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference), OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) RSEQ (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec) and ACAA (Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association).

Kayla Bruce, UFV Cascades
November kicked off with this fourth-year middle blocker being named the PACWEST Athlete of the Week. She's been climbing the leader board all year and is now ranked third in Canada for blocking, and is the highest scorer among middles in her conference.

Megan Nagy, Medicine Hat Rattlers
The fifth-year outside hitter had a phenomenal November. Her unwavering leadership and commitment both on and off the court were instrumental in helping the Rattlers finish with a perfect 10-0 record, and earned her a spot on the CCAA national statistics for kills per set.

Kelsey Fielding, Cambrian Golden Shield
The fourth-year left side completes the month of November nationally ranked for kills and as the OCAA's scoring leader with 4.6 points per set. She was also named the OCAA Female Athlete of the Week and Cambrian had a perfect 8-0 in league play.

Rosalie Coderre, Volontaires de Sherbrooke
Coderre has taken well to her role as team captain. November saw her mount a strong offence that resulted in 8 straight wins for the squad. As a result of her performance she was twice named the Volontaires' Athlete of the Week.

Cassandra Teed, NSAC Rams
Teed is an outstanding power for the Rams, leading the team to a second-place standing in the ACAA conference and earning herself the top spot on the CCAA individual statistics ranking for kills. The second-year power hitter is both a talented athlete and a positive example on the court.
