UBC-Okanagan comes out as the victors of women’s volleyball

UBC-O_HeatAs the weekend came to a close, it came down to 2 teams, UBC-Okanagan Heat and FX-Garneau Élans in the gold medal match.  In a 3 set game, UBC-Okanagan won the gold title as the defeated FX-Garneau 3-0.

Both teams played a hard fought game but with hard attacks from everywhere, UBC-Okanagan proved that they were the strongest team at the championships.  Tournament MVP, Alex Basso (UBC-O), led the team with great hits and a great offensive game.

“The 2010 Women's Volleyball nationals produced some exciting volleyball especially in the bronze and gold medal matches” comments Fred Batley, CCAA National Women’s Volleyball Convener.  “Cégep de l'Outaouais and the organizing committee did a great job!”
