(Cornwall, Ont. - March 2nd, 2010)   The country’s best female collegiate volleyball players will travel to Gatineau, Québec for the 2010 CCAA Women’s National Volleyball Championship hosted by Cégep de l’Outaouais from March 12-14th. 

The 2010 CCAA Women’s National Volleyball Championship features the top eight women’s volleyball teams in Canada, seeding in the following order;

1. University of British Columbia-Okanagan
2. Red Deer College
3. Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau
4. Vancouver Island University
5. Humber College
6. Grant MacEwan University
7. Mount Saint Vincent University
8. Cégep de l’Outaouais

The CCAA All Canadian Awards Banquet will precede the competition, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11th. The competition will begin on the following day, March 12th, and will run through Saturday, March 14th. The schedule is as follows:

Friday March 12th
Game #1              1pm – Red Deer vs. MSVU
Game # 2             3pm – FX Garneau vs. MacEwan
Game # 3             6pm – VIU vs. Humber
Game # 4             8pm – UBC-O vs. Outaouais

Saturday March 13th
Game # 5             1pm – Losers of game 1 & 2
Game # 6             3pm – Losers of game 3 & 4
Game # 7             6pm – Winners of game 1 & 2 (semi-final)
Game # 8             8pm – Winners of game 3 & 4 (semi-final)

Sunday March 14th
Game # 9             10am – Losers of game 7 & Winners of game 6
Game # 10          12pm – Losers of game 8 vs. Winners of game 5
Game # 11          2:30pm – Losers of game 5 & 6 (7th/8th place)
Game # 12          5pm – Winners of game 9 & 10 (Bronze Medal)
Game # 13          7pm – Winners of game 7 & 8 (Gold Medal)
 
The Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation will take place immediately following the final match.
