CCAA Confirms 2012 CCAA Women's Soccer National Championship Host
October 24, 2011 - The 2012 CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship will be hosted by Holland College of Charlottetown, P.E.I.
The tournament will take place November 7-10, 2012 at the new Terry Fox Sports Complex in nearby Cornwall, P.E.I.
"From their inception as new members of the ACAA, Holland College have been leaders in their willingness to host both regional and national championships," says Neil Hooper, president of the ACAA. "They hosted a first-class regional soccer championship in 2009, and we are absolutely thrilled and look forward to another great event with 'island flavour.' I sincerely believe that soccer enthusiasts from B.C. to P.E.I. will be in for a great week of soccer."
As the host team, the Holland Hurricanes women’s team are ensured a spot in the tournament, alongside championships from each of the five CCAA member conferences. They previously attended the 2010 CCAA Soccer National Championships as the ACAA champions. The event will include a CCAA All-Canadian awards banquet prepared by the Culinary Institute of Canada, a three-day round robin tournament and a skills competition.
Holland College will soon host the 2011 PING CCAA Golf National Championships, taking place October 18-21, 2011 at Brudenell River Golf Course in Roseneath, P.E.I.
