Jodi placed first in RDC’s George McFadzean Memorial Race this past weekend, with a time of 21:29. Jodi fended off a strong finish from last year's ACAC Champion near the end of the race. It was another one of her consistently strong races. In the previous Grand Prix, she finished 2nd, and followed it up with a first place finish this past weekend in front of a home town crowd. Jodi is a 2nd year cross-country runner registered in the Nursing Program at Red Deer College.

Mount Royal University golfer Phil Kondrak had an outstanding weekend for the Cougars as he led the charge claiming the two day ACAC men’s individual and team gold medal.
Phil fired a tournament low 70 on the first day, and followed it up with a solid 77 on day two, to narrowly escape with the individual championship, leading teammate Darcy MacDonald by one stroke.
Along with Phil’s individual gold medal, his low scores also helped his Cougar men’s team to claim the men’s team gold medal for a double gold medal weekend.
The third year Open Studies student is in his first season with the Cougars and will be counted on heavily when his team goes to CCAA Nationals, October 13-16 in Windsor, Ontario.
