January 13, 2012 – Nova Scotia Agricultural College has been confirmed as host of the 2013 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship.

The national championship tournament will take place March 14-16, 2013 in Truro, Nova Scotia. It will be the second time in two years NSAC will host a CCAA national championship event; the institution will hold the 2012 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship March 15-17, 2012.

“Basketball is very popular in Truro,” says Judy Smith, NSAC’s athletic director. “Each time we host we draw good crowds and the community’s youth get involved.”

Eight of the nation’s top teams compete in the CCAA’s Basketball National Championship tournaments; as hosts the NSAC Rams will be among them.

The 2013 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship will include an NSAC women’s basketball alumni event and will be promoted through Tourism Nova Scotia, Basketball Nova Scotia and EastLink Television.
