2011 Women’s Basketball All Canadians

200dickiemeghanMarch 17, 2011 - The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) proudly announced the CCAA Women's Basketball All Canadians at the Belair Direct CCAA All Canadian Awards Banquet in Niagara Falls, Ont.



Each award recipient is selected by their individual conference based on their performance and contribution to both their sport and their team.

Jenny Allen, Algonquin College
Thunder team captain Jenny Allen has been described as the glue of the team. The squad finished 16-0 in league play for their best finish ever.

Summer Bly, Georgian College
Summer Bly recovered from surgery in time to rack up nine double-doubles, 43 steals and win OCAA’s Player of the Year award.

Rachel Caputo, SAIT Polytechnic
Rachel Caputo is a third-year guard and the leading scorer in the ACAC south division. She’s been described as the hardest worker on the team with a complete all-around game.

Andria Carlyon, Grande Prairie Regional College
Andria Carlyon is a dominant force on the Wolves squad. She leads the CCAA in rebounds and scoring and was recently named ACAC’s Player of the year.

Meghan Dickie, Mount Allison University-
Mount Allison Mountie Meghan Dickie has been described as the cornerstone of her team and the squad’s best performer: week in, week out and all season long. She is the ACAA’s Player of the Year

Shelby Eveleigh, Vanier College
Shelby Everleigh is a RSEQ All star, team captain and point guard with a rate of 71% shooting from the line. She’s a strong student who shows leadership on and off the court.

Jessica Franz, Capilano University
Jessica Franz’s leadership and selflessness led the Blues to their best record since 1986. They had an undefeated second half and set team scoring records along the way. She is BCCAA’s Player of the Year.

Jenna Kantz, University of British Columbia Okanagan
Jenna Kantz has played CCAA basketball for five years, twice qualifying for the CCAA Championship. She is UBCO’s all-time leading scorer and has a 95% average in her studies.

Chelsea Mackay, Mount Saint Vincent University
Chelsea MacKey pushed herself hard this season, becoming a more rounded player in the process. She’s a team leader on the court and first in the country in steals per game.

Mariam Sylla, Collège Montmorency
Mariam Sylla has been dominant in Quebec’s RSEQ league. The two-time RSEQ MVP is the league’s best scorer and ranked second in rebounds.
