CCAA Women's Basketball Championship Preview
March 7, 2011 - The country’s best female collegiate basketball players will travel to Welland, Ont. for the 2011 CCAA Women’s National Basketball Championship hosted by Niagara College March 17-19.
The 2011 CCAA Women’s National Basketball Championship features the top eight women’s basketball teams in Canada, seeded in the following order:
1. Collège Montmorency
2. Grande Prairie Regional College
3. Dawson College
4. Capilano University
5. St Thomas University
6. Algonquin College
7. Mount Saint Vincent University
8. Niagara College
The Belair Direct CCAA All-Canadian Banquet will precede the competition, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16. The banquet will include a keynote address by Kelly Schumacher. The competition will begin on Thursday, March 17 and will run through Saturday, March 19. The schedule is as follows:
Thursday March 17
Game #1 1pm – GPRC vs MSVU
Game # 2 3pm – Dawson vs Algonquin
Game # 3 6pm – Capilano vs St Thomas
Game # 4 8pm – Montmorency vs Niagara
Friday March 18
Game # 5 1pm – Losers of game 1 & 2
Game # 6 3pm – Losers of game 3 & 4
Game # 7 6pm – Winners of game 1 & 2 (semi-final)
Game # 8 8pm – Winners of game 3 & 4 (semi-final)
Saturday March 19
Game # 9 10am – Losers of game 7 & Winners of game 6
Game # 10 12pm – Losers of game 8 vs. Winners of game 5
Game # 11 2pm – Losers of game 5 & 6 (7th/8th place)
Game # 12 6pm – Winners of game 9 & 10 (Bronze Medal)
Game # 13 8pm – Winners of game 7 & 8 (Gold Medal)
The Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation will take place immediately following the final match.
