Women's Basketball

Sainte Foy does it again!

SteFoy410In an exciting matchup between Cégep de Sainte-Foy and Mount Saint Vincent University at the 2010 CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championships, Sainte-Foy managed to come out ahead winning their third consecutive CCAA Women’s Basketball Champions title over MSVU 69-55.

Both teams played a strong game, but when it came to domination, nothing was going to stop Ste-Foy from reclaiming their title.

The team was lead by game and tournament M.V.P. Catherine Groleau as she took no prisoners, carrying the team with an impressive 24 points on 10 for 18 shooting.  Although Groleau put out some impressive stats, the rest of the team played just as important of a role in their 3rd Championship victory.

Not only was this the third consecutive championship for Ste-Foy, but it was also the third and last win for Head Coach Julie Dionne as well as final year players, Émilie Cloutier (1st team all-star), Catherine Groleau (tournament MVP) and Marie-Line Petit (2nd team all-star) as they all call their CCAA basketball careers to an end.
