Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
Kim Lee from SAIT Polytechnic is the winner of the 2010 CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
Lee a fifth year guard and the driving force on the Trojan team has dominated the ACAC with stellar offence and defensive skills. She was on the ACAC South Division leader board in nearly every major category. Lee led the South, and the ACAC, in points per game with 20.37 and placed first in her division for field-goal percentage, 52.6 and steals, 4.00, per game often defending the opponents’ best player. She also placed third in the South for assists per contest at 4.05.
Kim’s accomplishments, which include guiding the Trojans to an ACAC title, have earned her recognition such as being named to the ACAC South Division All-Conference first team, named an ACAC Athlete of the Week and CCAA Athlete of the Month.
In her spare time, Kim and other members of the Trojan basketball team volunteered for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary in the construction of Eleanor's Houses which provides housing and support to young people at risk-of or involved in sexual exploitation.
The Trojans will be going for gold at the 2010 CCAA National Basketball Championship hosted by University of British Columbia Okanagan, March 18-20, 2010.
Player of the Year recipients receive a CCAA customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring Supplier of the CCAA Championship Awards Banquet.
