(Cornwall, Ont. – March 18, 2009)  Marie-Ève Martin, from Vanier College is the winner of the 2009 CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Year award.

Team Captain for the Cheetahs, Marie-Ève is a versatile guard who averages 17.8 PPG, 6.3 RPG and 1.94 SPG.  Leading the Cheetahs with 30 minutes of playing time, she was a major factor in her team’s record of 14-5 in league play and an overall record of 22 -9. 

A very complete player who is very hard to match up against, Marie-Ève contributed to the Cheetahs in many ways; inside and outside three point shooter, rebounder and the leader on and off the court. 

Marie-Ève is very well respected around the league and has a reputation of fairplay and honest competition.  For her efforts this year, she was named to the QSSF First Team All Stars and awarded Player of the Year.
