TRU Participate in ABC Family Literacy Day

TRU_womenKamloops, BC—This was World Literacy Day.  The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s soccer team helped promote literacy by joining in on the ABC Family Literacy Day celebrations in Kamloops.  Put on by the Kamloops Early Learning and Language Initiative and other groups in the area, there were dignitaries reading to children at an event at the Henry Grube Center.

Concordia Claims Gold at the 2009 Women’s Soccer Nationals

finalsgirls_thumb(Cornwall, ON – November 9, 2009) As the week drew to a close, Concordia University College of Alberta Thunder took to the field to match up against the Fanshawe Falcons to compete for the gold medal and the tournament title as champions at the 2009 Big Kahuna/adidas Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Soccer National Championships.

CCAA Women's Soccer Athletes of the Month

November 9, 2009--The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association announced today the CCAA Soccer Athletes of the Month for October. The CCAA Athlete of the Month program recognizes student-athletes for their outstanding event performance and athletic accomplishments during that month.

Women’s Soccer Nationals Underway at Humber College

meaghans_pic1(Toronto, Ontario-) Humber College is host to the 2009 Big Kahuna/adidas Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer National Championships.  These National Championships have brought together the talents of Canada’s top collegiate women’s soccer teams.  Throughout the competition, soccer fans will be witness to exciting and intense play in Toronto, ON November 4th-7th, 2009.
