GOLF
The 2011 PING CCAA Golf championships will be hosted by Holland College of Charlottetown, P.E.I. The event will take place October 18-21, 2011 on Brudenell River Golf Course in Roseneath, P.E.I.
“Holland College is proud to serve as host of the 2011 CCAA Golf Open Championships,” said Brian McMillan, president of Holland College. “Prince Edward Island has earned its reputation as Canada's favorite golf destination, and it’s an exceptional venue to hold a national tournament championship.”
Brudenell River has been recognized as one of the Top 50 golf courses in Canada, and has hosted numerous Canadian Tour events.
Male and female student athletes from across Canada will compete at the championship as individuals and on teams. The four-day event will also include a skills competition and visits from local dignitaries.
CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
The 2011 CCAA Cross-country running championships will be hosted by Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, B.C. Races will take place November 10-12, 2011 at McArthur Island Park.
“The Thompson Rivers athletics department has developed a solid track record for hosting events” said Bruce Hunter, president of the BCCAA. “They will no doubt do a super job hosting the cross-country nationals.”
The CCAA championship event is in keeping with the city’s reputation as ‘Canada’s tournament capital,’ as Kamloops regularly hosts provincial and national sporting events. The World Masters Championships recently held an 8k cross-country race in McArthur Island Park, and the course marshall for that event has already volunteered to be chief marshall for the CCAA championship.
The cross-country championship is the CCAA’s most well-attended sporting events, with over 200 runners expected to compete in a 5k women’s race and 8k men’s race.

SOCCER
The 2011 CCAA Soccer championships will be hosted by Collège François-Xavier-Garneau in Québec, Québec. Separate men and women’s tournaments will take place November 9-12, 2011.
“Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau has a rich history of hosting and participating in CCAA championships,” said Nicole Vachon, athletics coordinator at Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau.”We believe we have the facilities and the expertise to host the best soccer teams in Canada.”
Matches will take play on campus on the exterior soccer field, which was completed just prior to the 2010 season. The field’s stands accommodate up to 2,000 spectators.
The Francois-Xavier-Garneau Elans are one of the RSEQ league’s most successful teams; the women’s soccer team took home gold at last year’s CCAA national championships in Alberta. As hosts, both the men’s and women’s teams are guaranteed to compete in the event, but this is the last year both the men and women’s tournaments will be hosted by one school. As of 2012, the event will be split among two member institutions.

BADMINTON
The 2012 CCAA badminton championships will be hosted by Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, B.C. The event will take place March 1-3, 2012 in the university’s gymnasium.
“I am pleased to confirm Thompson Rivers University as host of the 2012 CCAA national badminton championships,” stated Alan Shaver, president and vice-chancellor of Thompson Rivers University. “The TRU athletics department will do an exemplary job hosting this event.”
This is the third time in three year Thompson Rivers has hosted a CCAA championships event; they hosted PING Golf in 2010 and will host cross-country running in 2011.

“We are very excited to host an event of this magnitude,” said Ron Penner, president of Columbia Bible College. “We are looking forward to the excitement these championships will bring to Columbia and to Abbotsford.”
Branded as ‘Sports Town Canada,’ Abbotsford has a rich history of hosting major sporting events, including the 2010 and 2011 U18 National Volleyball Championships. The bid received support from Abbotsford mayor George W. Peary, Tourism Abbotsford Society executive director Dan Stefanson, Abbotsford Sport Council chairman Mark Duyns, and Chamber of Commerce executive director David D. Hull.

The 2012 CCA women’s volleyball championships will be hosted by Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, B.C. The tournament will take place March 8-10, 2012.
“The community is excited to host this event,” stated Bruce Hunter, athletic director of Vancouver Island University and president of the BCCAA. “The committee at VIU is already working towards welcoming athletes, coaches and guests to the beautiful city of Nanaimo.”
VIU previously hosted the 2007 CCAA men’s volleyball championships and the 2005 CCAA badminton championships. The school is currently updating its facilities to offer webcasting of all matches of the 2012 tournament.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
The 2012 CCAA men’s basketball championships will be hosted by Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro, N.S. The tournament takes place March 15-17, 2012.
“Nova Scotia Agricultural College and its athletics department bring a wealth of experience to this event,” stated Neil Hooper, president of the ACAA. “Their goal is to create the best possible experience for participants, and this championship will be no exception.”
Nova Scotia Agricultural College has hosted 12 CCAA national championships, including five for men’s basketball. They will raise the bar next year by having all games webcast online, with the gold and bronze medal games broadcast regionally on EastLink Television.
“Basketball is very popular in the Truro area,” said Judy Smith, athletic director at Nova Scotia Agricultural College. “The championships will be supported by Basketball Nova Scotia, Tourism Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia High School Federation, EastLink Television and the local media.”

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The 2012 CCAA women’s basketball championships will take place at Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 15-17, 2012.
“Lethbridge College is pleased to host the 2012 CCAA women’s basketball national championships,” stated Billl Dean, athletic director at Lethbridge College. “Southern Alberta is a hotbed for basketball, and the support we’ve received from the college, the city and the basketball community is second to none.”
Lethbridge College has hosted CCAA basketball twice before, and hopes to make the 2012 tournament the most memorable yet. Every game will be televised, with live pre-game, half time and post-game interviews.
“We are confident that with Lethbridge College will once again run a very successful championship” said Alan Rogan, president of the ACAC. “It will be memorable not only for student athletes and coaches, but for all those who take part.”
