Success: The Olympic Torch relay passes through Charlesbourg

Hundreds of people, of which several were local political personalities, as well as student-athletes representing the Limoilou Titans, gathered this morning at the Cégep Limoilou, Charlesbourg campus in support of the Olympic torch’s arrival into the province of Québec.

« The enthusiasm in Québec since the torch’s arrival represents a clear message that Quebec and its citizens hope to eventually become Olympic Game hosts.  Moreover, once the final torch is lit at the 2010 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies, February 12th, we can proudly say that Charlesbourg was a proud participant in this relay”, says Mrs. Odette Simoneau, Charlesbourg’s urban district President.

Cégep de Limoilou, Charlesbourg Campus, is an official Torch relay participant.  “It’s a real honor to be a witness to the torch’s long relay.  Being a part of this relay is our way of making history as well as to our own discretion, feeling a part of the games”, says Campus Director, Nicole Laflamme.
