Marketing Incentive Program (MIP) Winners!
(Cornwall, Ont. – June 17, 2008) The MIP Elite Award was created in 1995 to recognize the CCAA member-institution who purchased the most products from the CCAA’s Corporate MIP partners within the past year.
Keyano College of Fort McMurray, Alberta was awarded the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Marketing Incentive Program (MIP) Elite Award with a total of $61,406.97 in purchases. Keyano’s Athletic Director, Wade Kolmel, was on hand to receive this prestigious award at the 2008 CCAA Annual General Meeting hosted in Gatineau (QB).
Chris New, Athletic Director of College of the Rockies (BCCAA) accepted the MIP Gold Award on behalf of Capilano College of North Vancouver, B.C. with a value of over $50,465.20 in purchases of endorsed CCAA products. The MIP Gold Award is awarded to the CCAA institution that purchases the second highest amount of CCAA endorsed products.
Upon presenting both the MIP Elite and MIP Gold awards, the remaining prize packages were awarded in the MIP Sweepstakes. To be eligible for the MIP Sweepstakes, a member-institution must have purchased CCAA endorsed products from at least one MIP partner throughout the year. The number of ballots allotted is based on the dollar amount of CCAA endorsed products purchased. All ballots are then entered into a year-end MIP Sweepstakes and all prize packages have been donated by participating MIP partners.

The introduction of the MIP has provided the CCAA with a mechanism to encourage member colleges to participate in CCAA marketing activities that thereby increases the value of the CCAA programs on campus. Benefits are assigned through two components of MIP. A "Frequent Buyer" program entitles member-institutions to financial rebates on CCAA endorsed products and/or services purchased, while an end-of-year "Sweepstakes" provides opportunities for Athletic Departments to win products and/or services. The MIP allows the CCAA to work with their partners to offer them tremendous marketing opportunities and reach within the college market.
The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) is the national governing body for college sport in Canada, providing high-level competition through intercollegiate sport that recognizes excellence in academics and athletics.
