Sport Development has been identified by the membership as a core strategy for the CCAA through the Strategic Planning process.   One area in particular that was identified was Coaching Development.  Members have asked for funding to assist coaching development for all coaches in the CCAA. The CCAA budget was approved this past AGM with an allocation for Coaching Development. 

Grants of $250.00 for domestic professional development opportunities and grants of $500.00 for international professional development opportunities are available for head and assistant coaches in the CCAA.  The objective is to assist CCAA Coaches in their training and development so that they can successfully prepare student-athletes for competition and optimize the student-athlete experience. 

The program is flexible to meet the diverse learning opportunities available to coaches.  Professional Development opportunities can vary, but some of the more obvious educational formats could be:

NCCP certification (only applications for certification greater than Level II will be eligible
Sport-specific professional development activities either at a national of international level
Multi-sport professional development activities that bring together coaches from different sports
