CCAA Female Athlete of the Year Across All Sports
Cégep de Sainte-Foy’s Marie-Pascale Nadeau has been named this year’s Female Athlete of the Year Across All CCAA Sports by the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA).
Dynamiques women’s basketball team captain, Marie-Pascale is the total package. She is an excellent student, a team leader, and a consistent key player, who is known for her keen sense of fair play and respect towards teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.
As a graduating forward for Sainte-Foy, she averaged 15.9 PPG, 10.7 RPG, and was a vital factor in guiding the Dynamiques to a first place league standing, and a second place finish at the Quebec Student Sport Federation (QSSF) Provincials. Named the 2009 Host of the CCAA National Championships, Cégep de Sainte-Foy was awarded an automatic berth into the championships. This gave the Dynamiques a chance to defend their National Championship title on their home turf. With home crowd advantage, Marie-Pascale continued her solid play and was named the tournament's most valuable player, leading the Dynamiques to their second straight gold medal contributing 17 points in the Championship game.
Marie-Pascale’s outstanding skills have earned her numerous athletic accolades this year. She was selected pre-season All Star at the Laval University tournament; All Star at the Mount Saint Vincent University tournament; MVP of the McGill University tournament; QSSF First Team All-Star; CCAA All Canadian; and MVP of the CCAA National Championships.
Apart from the Dynamiques, Marie-Pascale volunteers her time as a basketball marker or timekeeper at Sainte-Foy’s local AA and A games.
The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association is a national sport organization that enriches the lives of student-athletes through intercollegiate competition.
