CCAA Welcomes New Member Institutions
June 29, 2012 - The CCAA (Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association) has confirmed four new member institutions.
St Mary’s University College in Calgary, Alta. will join the ACAC (Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference). The St Mary’s Lightning will compete in men and women’s basketball during the 2012-13 season, and hope to add men and women’s volleyball in the near future.
The RSEQ (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec) will add Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup (Rivière-du-Loup, Que), Cégep de Sorel-Tracy (Sorel-Tracy, Que.) and Collège de Rosemont (Montreal, Que).
As of this fall, the Rivière-du-Loup Portageurs and Portageuses will compete in cross-country running, the Sorel-Tracy Rebelles will compete in golf, and the Rosemont Gaulois and Gauloises will compete in cross-country-running and men’s soccer.
The new additions bring the total number of CCAA member institutions to 100.
