2011 CCAA Men’s Soccer All-Canadians

M_AllCanNovember 8, 2011 - The CCAA (Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association) proudly announced the 2011 CCAA Men's Soccer All-Canadians at the CCAA All-Canadian Soccer Banquet in Quebec City, Que.

 

Each award recipient is selected by their individual conference based on their performance and contribution to both their team and the sport.

Jose Acosta, NAIT Ooks
The first-year defender has already taken a leadership role on the pitch. Starting and playing every minute, Acosta was instrumental in the Ooks' best goals. He’s quick to take away shooting opportunities and tough to beat one-on-one. He is the ACAC’s men’s soccer player of the year.

Charles Arsenault, Élans du François-Xavier-Garneau
The second-year offensive midfield is the RSEQ conference's leading scorer, and participated in 15 of the Élans's 24 goals this season. His skills have earned him the nickname 'Petit Messi.'

Marcelo Capozzolo, Humber Hawks
This fourth-year defender is the leader of his team. His anticipation and vision is second to none, and he never gives up on a ball, making him a force in every game.  Humber defenders have only allowed four goals this season. He is the OCAA’s men’s soccer player of the year.

Mike Corby, STU Tommies
The first-year midfielder has been a tremendous addition to the Tommies squad. He scored three goals in a single game, and has an attitude that drives his team to go further. He also plays for Fredericton Wanderers SC, and was named the ACAA’s men’s soccer player of the year.

Rizal Ganief, Douglas Royals
The third-year striker led the PACWEST league in scoring with 9 goals in 9 games, and his win-at-all-costs attitude was key to his success this season. He's been named to multiple all-star teams, including the Men's Vancouver Metro Soccer League.

Jagminder Gill, Douglas Royals
The fourth-year striker and team captain had a dramatic impact on his team and lead by example both on and off the field. He is a former PACWEST Player of the Year and a two-time CCAA All-Canadian.

Michael McIntyre, Dawson Blues
The second-year midfielder and assistant captain's soccer skills are equaled only by his passion for the game. He played for Quebec's provincial team and serves as assistant coach in his club league.

Jose Bruno Mota, Coyotes de La Cité
The third-year striker was the OCAA's scoring leader for the second straight season, resulting in the squad's first undefeated season in the school's history.

Cole Runge, Lethbridge Kodiaks
This third-year striker is armed with speed, skill and an impressive scoring record. He led the ACAC league in goals, including four in one game. After three years in the ACAC he’s yet to receive a yellow card.

Allan Siwella, Medicine Hat Rattlers
In his first year this midfielder gained has earned a reputation as a talented, hard-working and respectful soccer player. He started in all of the Rattlers’ games.

Jared Stephens, VIU Mariners
The fourth-year forward is captain of a squad undefeated in league play. They won a national championship in 2010 and Stephens was named to the CCAA National Championships All-Star team. He is PACWEST’s men’s soccer player of the year.
