Men’s Teams Confirmed for 2011 CCAA Soccer National Championships
October 31, 2011 – The CCAA (Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association) has confirmed all six men’s teams competing in the 2011 CCAA Soccer National Championships at Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau in Quebec City.
The event will take place from Tuesday, November 8 to Saturday, November 12.
The 2011 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championships includes six teams; five spots are allotted to the champions from each of the CCAA’s member conferences. Unfortunately, the ACAA men’s soccer championship game between the Holland College Hurricanes and the University of New Brunswick-Saint John Seawolves was postponed due to poor weather, but was rescheduled for Tuesday, November 1. The Holland Hurricanes won 3-2. As hosts, the Collège François -Xavier-Garneau Élans team is also entitled to a berth.
The following teams will compete:
VIU Mariners (PACWEST champion, defending 2010 CCAA champions)
NAIT Ooks (ACAC champion)
Humber College Hawks (OCAA champion)
Champlain College – St Lambert Cavaliers (RSEQ champion)
Élans du Collège François-Xavier-Garneau (host)
Holland College Hurricanes (ACAA champion)
News, schedules and results from the 2011 CCAA Soccer National Championships will be available on the official website.
The five-day event kicks off Tuesday, November 8 with the CCAA All-Canadian Banquet.
Competition begins on Wednesday, November 9 and runs through Saturday, November 12. Games will be played at Collège François-Xavier-Garneau and Université Laval.
