CCAA Confirms 2012 Men's Soccer National Championship Host

DouglasroyalsOctober 24, 2011 - The 2012 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship will be hosted by Douglas College of New Westminster, B.C.

The tournament will take place November 7-10, 2012 at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, B.C. It will be the first time the CCAA men and women’s soccer national championships will not be held concurrently at the same site.

“Douglas College has a proven record of hosting regional, national and international events,” says G. Blaine Jensen, vice president of educational services at Douglas College. “We have a very strong community partner with the City of Coquitlam jointly running quality soccer fields for the last 15 years, and they’ve given us enthusiastic support for this bid.”

As the host team, the Douglas College men’s team are ensured a spot in the tournament, alongside championships from each of the five CCAA member conferences. The event will include a CCAA All-Canadian awards banquet and three-day round robin tournament, as well as a skills competition and youth clinics.
