Preview: 2011 CCAA Men's Soccer National Championship
October 11, 2011 - The 2011 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championships will be held at Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau November 9-12, 2011.
The event will be held alongside the women’s championship at the college’s new Sports Centre in Quebec City.
This is the last time the men and women’s championships will be held at the same site; the tournaments will be split in 2012.
“Collège Francois-Xavier-Garneau has a rich history of hosting and participating in CCAA championships,” says Nicole Vachon, member of FXG’s host committee.”We believe we have the facilities and the expertise to host the best soccer teams in Canada.”
A total of six men’s teams will be in attendance; the Élans are guaranteed a spot, and will be joined by regional champions from each of the five member conferences. The Élans attended the CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championships most recently in 2009, when they were narrowly defeated in the final by the Seneca College Sting. They also made it to nationals in 2008, indicating they will make worthy opponents in November.
