Toronto FC’s Nick Dasovic - Special Guest Speaker at CCAA Men's Soccer
Seneca College is pleased to announce Nick Dasovic as the special guest speaker for the 2009 CCAA Men’s Soccer All-Canadians Banquet on Tuesday November 3rd 2009 at the Premiere Ballroom & Convention Centre in Richmond Hill, ON.
The banquet will include the six men’s soccer teams that have qualified for the 2009 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championships as well as all other nominated All-Canadian players from across the country who will be presented their awards during the banquet.
Nick, a Vancouver native and former CCAA athlete himself (Capilano University 1986) Competed in the CCAA Championships and captured a bronze medal. Dasovic has plenty of international experience on his resume. He began his career with Dynamo Zagreb of Croatia’s Division 1 (1989-1991), but he would return back to Canada, where he played four seasons plying this trade with the Toronto Rockets of the CSL, Montreal Impact, and then Vancouver 86ers. In 1995 Dasovic returned to Europe where he joined French club St. Brieuc. He then moved on to Sweden and joined Premier League side Trelleborg I.F for one season, which was followed by a move to Scottish Premier League side St. Johnstone where he spent four seasons.
Dasovic also enjoyed a long career with Canada’s National team serving from 1993-2003 where he amassed a total of 63 Caps. He spent five years with the Canadian National program where he was the head coach of the Men’s Olympic team, and assistant with both the National and U-20’s.
Nick joined Toronto FC in May 2008 as Academy head coach and second assistant to the first team and is currently the first assistant coach for Toronto FC.
