CCAA Men's Basketball Championship Preview

MBB200March 7, 2011 - The country’s best male collegiate basketball players will travel to Oshawa, Ont. for the 2011 CCAA Men’s National Basketball Championship hosted by Durham College March 17-19.

 

The 2011 CCAA Men’s National Basketball Championship features the top eight men’s basketball teams in Canada, seeded in the following order:

1. Vancouver Island University
2. NAIT
3. Humber College 
4. University of Northern British Columbia 
5. Lethbridge College 
6. Mount Saint Vincent University 
7. Vanier College 
8. Durham College

The Belair Direct CCAA All-Canadian Banquet will precede the competition, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16. The competition will begin on Thursday, March 17 and will run through Saturday, March 19. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday March 17
Game #1              1pm – NAIT vs Vanier
Game # 2             3pm – Humber vs MSVU
Game # 3             6pm – UNBC vs Lethbridge
Game # 4             8pm – VIU vs Durham

Friday March 18
Game # 5             1pm – Losers of game 1 & 2
Game # 6             3pm – Losers of game 3 & 4
Game # 7             6pm – Winners of game 1 & 2 (semi-final)
Game # 8             8pm – Winners of game 3 & 4 (semi-final)

Saturday March 19
Game # 9            10am – Losers of game 7 & Winners of game 6
Game # 10          12pm – Losers of game 8 vs. Winners of game 5
Game # 11          2pm – Losers of game 5 & 6 (7th/8th place)
Game # 12          6pm – Winners of game 9 & 10 (Bronze Medal)
Game # 13          8pm – Winners of game 7 & 8 (Gold Medal)

The Toronto Raptors Dance Pak will perform at the gold-medal game.The Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation will take place immediately following the final match. Game tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.
