Humber Hawks Climb National Rankings

(ETOBICOKE, Ont - Janauary 24, 20110) Four of Humber College's varsity teams are ranked in the top five of the current CCAA national rankings.
The latest CCAA national rankings, released Tuesday, January 18, lists the school's badminton team and the men's basketball team in second place, while the men and women's volleyball teams check in at fourth and fifth respectively. Humber College is located in Toronto and the HUmber Hawks compete in the OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association).
The men's basketball team, who are currently undefeated in OCAA league play, recently toppled the top-ranked Algonquin Thunder. It was the first loss of the season for the Ottawa team.
The badminton team is also undefeated, thanks to standout performances by junior national champion Tracy Wong, CCAA champion Renee Yip and former OCAA players of the year Mark Wong and Charlie Lay.
The women's volleyball team also maintains a perfect record. Their roster includes fifth-year middle Landis Doyle, who is on the brink of breaking the OCAA's all-time records for scoring and aces.
All four HUmber Hawks teams will be working hard for the chance to compete in the OCAA provincial finals; winners are guaranteed a place in the upcoming CCAA national championships.
