Host Confirmed for 2012 PING CCAA Golf National Championship

LordsJanuary 13, 2012 - The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association has confirmed the 2012 PING CCAA Golf National Championship will be hosted by Durham College in Oshawa, Ont.

The tournament will take place October 15-19, 2012. Durham College previously hosted CCAA golf tournaments in 2001 and 2002, which were instrumental in making golf an official CCAA sport.

"We are ecstatic to be hosting again," said Ken Babcock, athletic director at Durham College. "The PING CCAA Golf National Championship provides us with the opportunity to showcase one of the nicest courses in Canada. Everyone involved is dedicated to staging a first-class event."

The 2012 tournament will be played at Oshawa Golf Club, a stunning course founded over a century ago and designed by prestigious Canadian golf architect Stanley Thompson. Considered the ‘Hidden Gem of the Durham Region,’ the club’s facilities include a driving range, putting green and pro shop.

The tournament itinerary includes three rounds of golf, a PING Skills Competition, onsite athletic banquet and awards presentation.
