St. Clair College and The Ambassador Golf Club are pleased to announce that they will be hosting a Media and Sponsor day on Wednesday, September 2.

The Saints are hosting the PING CCAA National Championships from October 13-16 at Ambassador. This will be the second time that the Saints have hosted this prestigious event which was last hosted at Fox Glen in October 2005.

The media day event will feature several local media members as well as representatives from St. Clair College including college president Dr. John Strasser, the OCAA, and the CCAA. Some sponsors of the event will also be taking part as well as a some members of the Saints Men’s Golf team. The event will begin at 11:30 am at Ambassador.

“St. Clair is extremely proud to host this National event and it is a perfect fit for the college, not only for our Athletic department, but with our recent launch and development of the Professional Golf Management Program at our Thames Campus in Chatham”, stated Strasser.

Dave Findlay, CPGA Head Professional at Ambassador, is very excited to host this event. “Ambassador Golf Club is proud to host the 2009 Ping CCAA Golf National Championships. We are looking forward to seeing the best in Canadian College golf and showcasing this fantastic venue to all of Canada.”

St. Clair Athletic Coordinator and Tournament Co-Chair Jay Shewfelt is looking forward to this one day special event to promote and raise awareness about the National Championships. “The media and sponsor day will be a great opportunity for the media to experience this amazing golf facility and to meet many of the individuals and groups involved in organizing and funding this prominent event prior to it taking place in mid October.”
