2008 PING CCAA Golf Open Championships

(Cornwall, Ont. – October 6, 2008) The PING Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Golf Open Championships will be hosted on beautiful P.E.I. from October 13-17.  This year’s event will be hosted by Holland College at the Fox Meadow Golf and Country Club in Stratford, which was awarded four stars by Golf Digest, and is home to Holland College’s Canadian Golf Academy.

Athletic Director, Albert Roche states that “These are world-class facilities, and we know the players will enjoy the challenge. When you combine the renowned Prince Edward Island golf product, national competition, and our reputation for hospitality we are confident our event will be successful.” Holland College is proud to provide a venue to showcase some of Canada’s best golf talent. More than 100 student-athletes and coaches from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic are confirmed to participate in this year’s event.

“We are in a unique situation where we can integrate learning into the hosting of a national golf championship ensuring a memorable educational experience for our students and players,” says Paul Murnaghan, golf programs coordinator at Holland college.

Canada’s top collegiate golfers will travel to the East Coast to play in the annual tournament, which is hosted for the first time by the Atlantic Colleges’ Athletic Association (ACAA).  The following CCAA member-institutions have confirmed their participation:
