2012 CCAA Curling Invitational Championship
September 12, 2012 - Curling is making a return to the CCAA national stage in March 2012.
Fleming College in Peterborough, Ont. will host a 2012 CCAA Curling Invitational Championship March 21-24, 2012. The CCAA has not held a curling championship since 1990.
“Fleming College is a strong curling school, and an advocate of the sport," declared Fred Batley, athletic coordinator at Fleming College. "We look forward to becoming the institution that brings back the curling experience at the national level.”
Although not an official CCAA sport, many CCAA member schools competing in the ACAC and OCAA member conferences participate in curling.
Eight men and 8 women’s teams will compete in a round-robin tournament at the Peterborough Curling Club. The event will also include an athletic awards banquet. Fleming College has a rich history of hosting OCAA provincial championships, as well as the 2005 CCAA Cross-Country Running Open Championship.
