Mount Allison Runners Setting the Pace in ACAA
September 30, 2011 - The Mount Allison University Mounties of Sackville, N.B. are leading the pack in cross-country running.
Runners from Mount Allison took the top five spots in both the men and women's standing at the first ACAA cross-country meet of the season hosted by the Holland College Hurricanes of Charlottetown, P.E.I.
The Mounties' Madeleine Crowell picked up where she left off last season, recording a time of 18m 43 sec for the 5 km race. It was impressive day for the women’s team, with three Mounties running 19 minutes or better.
The men’s race was equally exciting, with five Mounties taking an early lead in the 8 km race. For the first time in three ACAA seasons, Mount Allion's Parker Vaughan was not the winner; teammate Matthew Wheaton took the race in 27m 39 sec.
The Mounties competed against runners from Crandall University, Holland College, NSAC and Université Sainte-Anne.
Full results are available from the men and women's races.
