Lethbridge Runners cross the finish line first at the 2008 CCAA Cross Country Running Open

Cross country running took center stage in Kingston, Ontario this past weekend as St. Lawrence College – (Kingston) successfully hosted the 2008 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running Open Championships. A total of 247 cross country runners – 113 women and 134 men - travelled to Kingston to compete in the event.

Gladys Kochei and Willy Kiomosop (Lethbridge College, ACAC) prevailed to finish first in the Women’s and Men’s Individual events. Gladys improved on her 3rd place finish at the 2007 CCAA Championships.

Fanshawe College (OCAA) led the pack to the finish line in the College Women’s Team event, followed by Humber College (OCAA) in 2nd place, followed by Red Deer College. Lethbridge College (ACAC) took 1st over Québec’s Cégep Sainte-Foy (FQSE), followed by Fanshawe College (OCAA) in the College Men’s Team event.
