2010 CCAA Badminton Coach of the Year
The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association is pleased to name Lam Trinh from Humber College as the winner of the 2010 CCAA Badminton Coach of the Year.
Lam, who has been a vital part of Humber’s badminton program for a number of years took on the role as Co-Head Coach this year to bring the program to a new level. Successful recruiting and Lam’s technical expertise has been a valuable tool in the growth of the Hawks squad. A full-time employee at Humber College, Trinh ensures that his student-athletes are successful in the classroom as well as on the court.
Lam’ s coaching goals are to develop nationally competitive badminton players, while trying to grow the sport within the college system and Toronto Community. A positive step in growth area is the announcement that Humber College has become an elite training centre with Badminton Ontario and will be the site of the 2010 Junior Nationals.
Outside of Humber College, Lam is incredibly active in the Toronto Badminton scene, coaching at many clubs and clinics. He is not only a leader but continues to be a student of the game.
Coach of the Year recipients receive a CCAA customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring supplier of the CCAA Championship Awards Banquet.
