Cornwall, ON – NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) is proud to announce that they will be hosting the 2010 CCAA Badminton National Championships, March 4 – 6, 2010.  This three day event will include the best collegiate men’s and women’s badminton players from across the country.

The event is set to begin on Tuesday, March 2nd, as teams arrive in Edmonton, Alberta, and the competition will start on Thursday, March 4th, 2010.  The competition will continue through to Saturday, March 6, 2010 with the final gold medal rounds beginning at 2:00pm. 

“The NAIT Department of Athletics and Recreation has been working diligently over this past year in preparation of hosting the Badminton National Championships. The buy in from the NAIT community to use the resources on campus has been phenomenal,” says Linda Henderson, NAIT Athletic Director.  “We will involve many of our students in the Culinary Arts Program to prepare and serve the student-athletes at the All-Canadian Banquet.  Additionally, we have the Radio and Television Arts Program involved in the webcasting and announcing portion of the competition and we have the involvement from the entire Athletics and Recreation Department.  NAIT is thrilled to be able to showcase the talents of those outstanding Badminton student-athletes that come from across the country.  It will be a once in a life-time experience for all those involved”.

Friday, March 5/10
• 9:30 am - 12:00 pm      Round 4
• 12:00 pm -2:30 pm      Round 5
• 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm      Medal Semi Finals

Saturday, March 6/10
• 11:00 am – 2:00 pm    Bronze Medal & Fifth & Sixth matches
• 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm    Gold Medal Matches
