June 14 2012 - The Georgian Grizzlies of Barrie, Ont. will host the 2013 CCAA Badminton National Championship.

The national championship tournament will take place February 28 - March 2, 2013. The institution is a strong badminton supporter and previously hosted CCAA Badminton National Championships in 2005 and 1981.

"We are confident that we can organize and present a successful event that will showcase the effort of the athletes and the sport of badminton," says Michelle McConney, Georgian College athletic director.

Located just outside Toronto, the Georgian Gymnasium will accommodate badminton courts, warm-up space and spectator seating. The event itinerary includes a practice session, an All-Canadian awards banquet, five rounds of round robin play as well as championship matches.
