ACAA vs ACAC: The ACAC continued their dominant play defeating the ACAA 5 matches to 0. The Match of this round belonged to Men’s Singles, where Jaryd Morrissey from the ACAA gave a valiant effort but in the end fell to Narayan Ramdhani from the ACAC 21-16, 17-21, 21-13.
ACAC Wildcard vs OCAA: The OCAA defeated the ACAA Wildcard 5-0 in a round which consisted of two close matches in Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles. In Men’s Singles, Ramnish Kumar pulled out another gutsy win, while in Men’s Doubles Arpit Taneja and Ayubu Touray defeated John Li and Tyler Walsh in one of the most exciting matches of the tournament.
ACAA Host vs OCAA Wildcard: The OCAA Wildcard Team defeated that ACAA Host 5 matches to 0. The Women’s Singles match featuring Rachel Wong and Sarah Fortin showed a strong effort from Fortin. Wong ended up victorious with scores of 21-13, 21-11.
ACAC vs OCAA Wildcard: In a competitive round, the ACAC Team defeated the OCAA Wildcard 4 matches to 1. It was a strong effort by the OCAA Wildcard Women’s Doubles team Helen Ngu and Han Pham but they eventually fell to Bea Bernardo and Ryo Kuramochi 21-16, 21-14.
ACAA Host vs OCAA: The OCAA defeated the ACAA Host 5 matches to 0. The OCAA finish with a 4-1 record heading into the medal round, while the ACAA Host team prepares itself for the 5/6 matchups.
ACAC Wildcard vs ACAA: In one of the closest rounds of the tournament, the ACAC Wildcard team ended up defeating the ACAA 3 matches to 2. Bryce Mason and Benn Van Ryn pulled out a big win over John Li and Tyler Walsh qualifying them for the semi-finals 17-21, 21-17, 21-17.
UKC (ACAA) vs Concordia (ACAC):Takeisha Wang and Desmond Wang had their strongest performance of the tournament to date, defeating Sam White and Sam Lawther 21-10, 21-6. Concordia will now play for the gold medal, while UKC will be competing for Bronze
George Brown (OCAA) vs Centennial (OCAA) Wildcard: Mike Brown and Angeline Alviar defeated Chirag Dave and Jia Yi Feng 21-18, 21-14 in an inter-conference matchup. Brown and Alviar advance to the gold medal match, while Dave and Yi will play for Bronze.
UKC (ACAA) vs Humber (OCAA): In the closest match of the tournament to date, UKC’s Bryce Mason and Ben Van Ryn pulled out a monumental win over the top seeded team from Humber College, Arpit Taneja and Ayubu Touray. This match came down to extra points in the final set 17-21 21-16 22-20, which drew a loud cheer from the home crowd. Mason and Van Ryn will play for gold tomorrow with Taneja and Touray playing for Bronze.
George Brown (OCAA Wildcard) vs NAIT (ACAC): Jeffrey Ko and Ronuelle Mendina from NAITdefeated Alex Chao and Eric Kern from George Brown to advance to the gold medal match. It was a close match until the third set, when Ko and Mendina pulled away to seal the victory 21-11, 21-23, 21-11.
Humber (OCAA) vs Concordia (ACAC Wildcard): Victoria Duong and Chloe Rowe had a dominating win over Kaylee Morris and Kassidy Turcotte 21-9, 21-8. Humber will now compete in the gold medal game with Concordia playing for bronze.
NAIT (ACAC) vs Fanshawe (OCAA Wildcard):Bea Bernardo and Ryo Kuramochi defeated Helen Ngu and Han Pham in an exciting three-game match 15-21, 21-11, 21-14. This match featured many long rallies with impressive defence and different strategies. NAIT now competes for gold with Fanshawe playing for silver.
Humber (OCAA) vs George Brown (OCAA Wildcard): Ramnish Kumar defeated Yuge Zeng 13-21, 21-17, 21-16 in a fantastic inter-conference match which almost saw the wildcard team upset the OCAA champions. Kumar, the top seed now battles for gold, while Zeng will compete for bronze.
Concordia (ACAC Wildcard) vs The Kings (ACAC):Nicolas Pittman pulled off an inter-conference upset vs Narayan Ramdhani 21-17 21-23 21-12.In an entertaining match which saw numerous lead changes, the Concordia Thunder student-athlete found a way to make it to the gold medal game. Ramdhani will compete for bronze.
NAIT (ACAC) vs NAIT (ACAC Wildcard): The first semi-final featuring two opponents from the same school ended in convincing fashion with Eyota Kwan defeating Samantha Hsu 21-9, 21-12. Kwan will go for gold tomorrow, while Hsu will play for bronze.
George Brown (OCAA) vs UTM (OCAA Wildcard): Ann Hoang from the OCAA team defeated her inter-conference rival Rachel Wong 21-17, 21-6. Hoang will now compete for the gold medal vs. Eyota Kwan from NAIT, while Wong will play Samantha Hsu for bronze.
